How to not hire people of underrepresented groups

How to definitely, absolutely not hire people of underrepresented groups:

  • “We don’t discriminate”
  • “We have a generous 3-day work from the office, 2-day home office policy“ — no remote options
  • Looking for rockstars with “excellent“ performance and “ambitious“ track record
  • Have a leadership team composed of only white men
  • Micro-aggressions in the interviews (eye rolling, remarks about the “place of origin”, etc.)
  • Ask for personal details
  • Not mention salary range in the ad, expect applicants to state their expectations upfront
  • 8-step interview process
  • A challenge or task that takes longer than 1 hour to complete
  • No knowledge about accommodations
  • Onboarding at a 3-day retreat in another country
