Recommended salary reports for IT, engineering, data in Germany — 2023–24

Every year we get surveys, insights and overviews of salary levels for IT, engineering and data roles. Some of these reports present a more realistic and adequate picture. Some reports vastly underrate or exaggerate the salary experts can expect to get.

Germany is a wealthy country. Despite this, and maybe because it is similar to other European neighbors, employers here don’t pay the same — enormously high — rates as they do in the US or Canada, for instance. Income taxes are also high in the salary brackets we look at for IT roles.

To compare well, several factors need to be taken into consideration. That being said, this collection gives a pragmatic and encouraging insight to all those that seek to understand the German job market.
